Nature Boy Ric Flair is a legend in the world of wrestling. This past Friday night, he went to the hospital with severe abdominal pain and then, according to his fiancee, “from that moment on, it all seems like a nightmare.” She wouldn’t go into specifics, but from what we understand, Ric was put into a medically induced coma and then had to undergo surgery for multiple organ problems. She says at this point, Ric is in critical condition and needs our prayers.
I don’t know if you’ve heard, but the eclipse is coming. On Monday, August 21, for the first time since 1979, we get to witness the first total solar eclipse across the United States. And to mark the occasion, Bonnie Tyler — backed by DNCE — will be on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship singing her 1983 hit, “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” The Total Eclipse Cruise will be perfectly positioned in the Path of Totality as the moon blocks the sun, which is expected to last 2 minutes, 40 seconds.
This reboot of “American Idol” is off to a real rocky start. TMZ is reporting that with only six weeks left before the cameras begin to roll, Katy Perry is still the only judge who’s signed on. Because it’s public knowledge that Katy’s getting $25 million, Lionel Richie’sholding out for $10 million, which is double what Idol producers want to pay him. And while they want a panel of four judges, they may be forced to go back to three to cover the salaries. In addition to Lionel, Charlie Puth, Luke Bryan, Keith Urban and Nile Rodgers are still being considered to fill the judges seats.
Lady Gaga has now agreed to sit for a deposition in the case of Dr. Luke and Kesha. He had subpoenaed Gaga a while back but she kept dodging it. Now it’s finally going to happen next month. Gaga has also agreed to turn over the entire text message exchange between her and Kesha without any redactions. In these texts, Kesha claims that she was abused by Dr. Luke and Gaga tells her to fight back.
After winning a symbolic dollar from the former morning show DJ she accused of groping her, Taylor Swift has made good on her promise to donate money to organizations that help survivors of sexual assault. Taylor has made an “extremely generous” donation to the Joyful Heart Foundation, which was created by her good friend, Mariska Hargitay. Mariska plays Detective Olivia Benson on NBC’s “Law & Order SVU” and Taylor loves her so much she named one of her cats Olivia. Back in 2004, Mariska founded the Joyful Heart Foundation, with the vision of seeing a world free of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse.
