“Fifty Shades Freed” is the last movie in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” trilogy. It opened in first place over the pre-Valentine’s Day weekend with $38.8 million. Say what you want about these movies, but altogether, this franchise has earned over a billion dollars. Second place went to the new “Peter Rabbit” with $25 million, which was better than expected for its opening weekend. And in third place was the new movie “15:17 to Paris” with $12.6 million. Clint Eastwood directed this one using the actual heroes who thwarted a terrorist attack on a train in Paris.
Not everybody in the audience of “Peter Rabbit” is loving what they’re seeing. In one scene, a gang of rabbits hurl blackberries at the bad guy, Mr. McGregor, KNOWING that he’s allergic to them. One of the berries lands in Mr. McGregor’s mouth, causing him to start choking. He collapses to the ground nd then saves himself with an EpiPen. Funny? Not to parents with kids who have severe food allergies. The president of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America Kenneth Mendez said, “Making light of this condition hurts our members because it encourages the public not to take the risk of allergic reactions seriously, and this cavalier attitude may make them act in ways that could put an allergic person in danger.” In fact, some parents are afraid this could lead kids to bullying those who have food allergies. So a petition was started on Change.org, demanding an apology from Sony Pictures. Their goal is 15K signatures and at last check, the petition is approaching 13K. But even without meeting their goal, Sony has issued an apology, saying, “Food allergies are a serious issue. Our film should not have made light of Peter Rabbit’s archnemesis, Mr. McGregor, being allergic to blackberries, even in a cartoonish, slapstick way. We sincerely regret not being more aware and sensitive to this issue, and we truly apologize.”
It’s not often I do a story about Tiger Woods’ ex-wife Elin Nordegren, but what happened to her made my mouth drop, so here you go — Elin was caught speeding in Palm Beach, doing 95 in a 65 in her 2015 white Cadillac. DANG! But she was caught from an AIRCRAFT monitoring the road, who then radioed down to a ground unit, which then located Elin and pulled her over. She’ll have to pay a $356 fine and she has a court date set for March. Florida law says both the air and ground officer involved in the traffic citation have to appear, so there’s a chance she can try and fight and hope that one of the officers skips the court date.
Sports Illustrated Swimsuit has revealed their cover girl! She is 24-year-old Danielle Herrington and she is the third black woman to grace the SI Swimsuit issue. Tyra Banks was on the cover in 1996 and 1997 and Beyonce was the cover girl in 2007. Danielle was a rookie model in last year’s Swimsuit issue, so this is a huge leap for her.
SPOILER ALERT: Bekah Martinez was eliminated from “The Bachelor” last night, so she’s now free to explain that whole “missing person” report her mom filed a couple weeks ago. She told Jimmy Kimmelthat when Arie eliminated her, she decided to go to the mountains with some friends for a couple weeks. She told her mom she would have cell phone service up there, but that was not the case. After 6 or 7 days, Bekah had a feeling that she needed to go home and when she got to an area with service, she called home. That’s when she found out her mother had filed a missing persons report on her just 12 hours earlier. As far as the reports that she was on a weed farm, that is true. But Bekah insists she is NOT a weed farmer. She is still a nanny.
Bekah was recently reported missing by her mom and then the sheriff’s office in Humboldt County said she was working on a marijuana farm so naturally Jimmy had lots of questions for her.
