Dua Lipa Just Recreated Her 'New Rules' Video At The 2018 BRIT Awards

Dua Lipa's video for "New Rules" is four minutes of eye-popping tricks, sets, and choreography, and the British pop star made sure to bring all those eccentrics to her performance at Wednesday night's (February 21) 2018 BRIT Awards.

Backed by a string of female dancers, a neon-lit set and a simulated pool similar to the one from her Henry Scholfield-directed clip, the 22-year-old stormed the stage to reenact scenes from the widely popular video. Unlike her previous performances, this showing of "New Rules" was the most elaborate, particularly when a number of ladies laid down on stage for the simulated water scene. Lipa was the first big winner from the annual ceremony, picking up an award for Best Female Solo Artist. "Thank you so, so much. I am grateful for this and so humbled. I want to thank every single female that has been on this stage before me and has given girls like me a place to be inspired by and [someone to] look up to and allow us to dream," she said in her acceptance speech for the award, which was presented by Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown and Kylie Minogue. "Here's to more women on these stages, winning these awards and taking over the world."

Even before the win, the British pop star made BRIT history with her five nominations, earning the most a female solo artist has received in one year at the awards. She's also in the running for British Artist Video of the Year, British Breakthrough Act, British Single and Mastercard British Album of the Year.
