CCU's ballpark ranked among the nation's best - just like the Chants

Depending on the service you check, the Coastal Carolina University baseball team is ranked as high as 14th nationally, to as low as 24th (still not too shabby!). It's home ballpark - Springs Brooks Stadium - is also ranked pretty high, nationally, according to Baseball America.

In ranking CCU's stadium 8th nationally, Baseball America writes: "Springs Brooks Stadium, which opened in 2015, highlights the atmosphere of nearby Myrtle Beach, with a concourse that evokes the boardwalk and deck chairs lining the berms."

The only mid-major school sporting a stadium ranked higher is Creighton, in Omaha, which plays in TD Ameritrade Park; but that kinda doesn't count, since that stadium was built specifically for the College World Series. That's the venue the Chants won it all in 2016.

The University of South Carolina's stadium, Founders Park, came in at 10th, nationally. Review the rankings HERE!

Ron and Will at CCU game

I got in a "birthday weekend" game at Springs Brooks late in February with my buddy DJ Will, by the way. I'd suggest taking a game, myself, but need to warn you - college baseball season starts in February and ends in May, so your opportunities are dwindling. Here's the Chants' remaining home schedule ...

05/09/18 - Wednesday @ 6pm North Carolina

5/11/18 - Friday @ 2pm Little Rock

05/12/18 - Saturday @ 2pm Little Rock

5/13/18 - Sunday @ 12pm Little Rock
