Megan Thee Stallion's attorneys want Tory Lanez to be punished over his "inflammatory" behavior during their recent meeting with him.
According to a report TMZ published on Wednesday, April 16, Meg's legal team asked a judge to consider holding Lanez in contempt of court after the imprisoned rapper was slightly hostile during their deposition with him for their civil lawsuit against blogger Milagro Cooper. The "BOA" artist's lawyers described the deposition as "disruptive, inflammatory, and inconsistent with the basic norms of civil litigation." They also claimed Lanez insulted Meg's lawyer's looks and claimed her alleged hair dye was "distracting."
Meg's team recalled how Lanez claimed he didn't understand simple terms like "discuss" and "approve." At the end of the deposition, Lanez allegedly told the attorney to bring a hairbrush the next time they tried to depose him while she exited the room. In addition, Meg's attorneys also included an email from the law firm who represented Lanez during his criminal trial. In the message, the firm said they are not representing him for his civil case and wouldn't fight their request to hold the rapper in contempt.
Megan Thee Stallion is suing Milagro Cooper for allegedly spreading false information about her through her social media channels. The "Hiss" rapper claimed Cooper "spread defamatory statements, deepfake porn videos, and outright lies about [Megan] at the behest and command of Mr. Peterson." Lanez denied the allegations, however, her lawyers provided receipts of payments amounting to $3,000 that Lanez's father allegedly made to Cooper in exchange for creating the posts.
Tory Lanez is behind bars for 10 years after he was convicted of shooting Meg in the feet in 2020. The "Mamushi" rapper was granted a restraining order that requires him to stay 100 yards away from her. It also prohibits him from threatening, harassing, intimidating, or disturbing her peace. As of this report, Lanez has not responded to the allegations Meg's attorneys made in court.
