Katy Perry Reacts To Fake Photos Of Her At The Met Gala In Hilarious Post

Katy Perry recently cleared up confusion surrounding a series of extremely realistic AI photos of her attending this year's Met Gala.

The "Dark Horse" hitmaker was not present at the illustrious annual event, but a few AI snaps floating around the internet made fans believe she was. Perry called out the fake pics in a May 6 Instagram Post, humorously acknowledging how easy it is to be tricked by AI.

The first two AI photos showed Perry ascending the Met stairs in a black, suited gown, perfectly capturing the theme of the evening, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style. To make things even more confusing, an AI-generated sketch of Perry's ensemble also circulated online.

"Couldn’t make it to the MET, I’m on The Lifetimes Tour (see you in Houston tomorrow IRL‼️)," the "California Gurls" icon captioned the series.

She also reposted a few hilarious fan reactions regarding the AI spoof, with one commenting, "This is an AI outfit. It's not even real. I am so mad I fell for this s***. I saw this and I said, 'This is sickening.' This is AI! That is f****** dangerous bro." Another revealed that this is the second time they fell for Katy Perry's AI Met Gala look.

"One thing about me is I will fall for AI Katy Perry at the met every time." That's right. This is not the first time AI Katy Perry has "attended" the Met Gala while the real Katy Perry was out of town. Fake photos of the "Last Friday Night" sensation donning a flower gown for 2024's gala went viral last year.

Her husband, Orlando Bloom, also poked fun at the situation, quipping, "Not once but twice 😂 still got it 🔥."

So, where was Perry while AI Perry attended the Met Gala?

The "Teenage Dream" star was elsewhere with her mother during the event, and shared video footage in the series to prove it.

"P.s. this year I was actually with my mom so she’s safe from the bots but I’m praying for the rest of y’all," she joked.
