The Seattle Mariners are set to call up their top pitching prospect, Kade Anderson, for his Major League debut on Saturday (August 22) against the Chicago Cubs. Anderson, a 22-year-old left-hander, has been dominant in Double-A Arkansas, boasting a 10-1 record with a 1.06 ERA and 135 strikeouts in 18 starts this season.

Anderson, who was drafted third overall by the Mariners in 2025, helped lead LSU to a College World Series victory last year, earning the tournament's Most Outstanding Player award. His performance in Double-A has been nothing short of stellar, with opponents hitting just .147 against him. Despite bypassing Triple-A, Anderson's impressive stats and command of a mid-90s fastball, slider, curveball, and changeup have earned him the call-up.

Seattle hopes Anderson's addition will bolster their rotation, which includes pitchers like Logan Gilbert and Bryan Woo. The Mariners are currently 60-68 and are three games behind the final American League wild-card spot. Anderson's promotion is timely, as the team seeks to improve its postseason chances.

ESPN reports that Anderson's promotion aligns with the service time deadline, ensuring he retains rookie eligibility for 2027. Mariners fans eagerly anticipate his debut, hoping his skills will translate to success at the Major League level.
