Well, it's back. The season we all fear along the east coast simply because we never quite know what to expect, except hurricanes. As a lifetime local here in Myrtle Beach, I pretty much expect there to be a Hurricane or Tropical Storm of some magnitude every year, you just have to hope and pray it's not a direct hit. This time of year haunts the minds of those who saw the likes of Hugo, Gracie, Floyd, and even recently with Matthew. The season alone will tug at your anxiety. And since we can't tame mother nature, the only thing we CAN do, is try to be prepared. Now the good thing is, by now we're pros. When it comes to the latest developments with these storms, we can always depend on our local News team to keep us updated. I can't tell you how many times I've received notifications over the years of Ed Piotrowski doing a Facebook Live to keep us updated every couple of hours. He always has the latest updates, and has gone as far to tell us what places are already out of essentials we may need like water, batteries, sandbags, etc, and through all the craziness, no matter how bad the damage, we ALWAYS come together as a community to help our neighbor. Which in turn makes the season a bit easier to deal with, but it still sucks!
Throughout Hurricane season, make sure you're locked in with Mix 97.7 because we will have all the latest updates from ED and the team on the air as soon as he gets them!
Stay Safe Ya'll!
